Q&A with Dave Gray!

Jodi

Dave                                                                                                Mark

Hi all, it has been a while but I am now back and have chosen the newest member of the WebCreationUK team to interrogate.

Hope you had a good bank holiday weekend..

This week…Mark “Pughy” Pugh…

Q: What is your role at WebCreationUK and what do you do?

A: My official title is “Technical Manager” which basically means I look after all the servers to keep our fantastic clients online. I also am responsible for drinking 30% of the tea in the office.

Q: Have you ever googled yourself?

A: I have but I didn’t find me. I’m an actor and a photographer though, I didn’t know that.

Q:
Name your 3 favourite website designs by WebCreationUK.

A: Hmm tricky one. I really like one that just launched called AstonMotorSport.co.uk, that’s probably got something to do with the big aston on the page though. I also like Paul Edmonds site. Two with flash… hmm better chose a non flashy one now.. actually I really like lemongrass kitchenware. Nice and fresh :)

Q:
What have you been listening to recently?

A: Pretty much non-stop Jaguar Skills – haha. I’m off to see him at Glastonbury soon :)

Q
: Which websites do you use the most?

A: Probably some internal ones that I can’t mention but at home probably eBay, youtube and pistonheads.com.

Q: What do you spend your time doing outside of work?

A: If i’m not eating or at work i’m normally in my garage taking something oily apart. I’ve just rebuilt my road bike which is going nicely now!

Q: If you had one wish…what would it be?

A: To be obscenely rich. They say money can’t buy happiness but i’m pretty sure that’s rubbish. Money can buy lots of beer and cars!

Q:
And finally….Cars or bikes…?

A: I’m not sure on this one. My first love was cars but bike’s are cheaper and more fun. How about a 3 wheeled car – meet you half way? Reliant Rialto for the extra load space. Sorted.

Interesting answers from ‘Pughy’ and I hope you all enjoyed it!

Back soon!!

Q&A with David Gray

Jodi

Hi all, it has been a while but I am now back and have chosen a new member of the team to pose my questions to.

This week – Kelly York…

Q: What is your role at WebCreationUK and what do you do?

A: Project Allocation Manager – I read through clients’ creative briefs and delegate projects to the most suitable designer for that particular type of website.

Q: Have you ever googled yourself?

A: Once, a long time ago and it listed an Escort Agency :)

Q: Name your 3 favourite website designs by WebCreationUK.

A:

1) http://www.francescaneill.com/ – I like the flash work on the gallery section where images can be flipped over like a page in a book.

2) http://www.minifest2008.com/ – The homepage is very creative, well designed and eye catching.

3) http://www.jolaby.co.uk/ – I think the white noise television effect is pretty cool and gives the site an edgy feel.

Q: What have you been listening to recently?

A: I listen to The Maccabees, Bloc Party and The Cure religiously but lately I have been listening to Hot Chip’s new album and Delphic. Excited about the new Foals album which is being released soon.

Q: Which sites do you use the most?

A: Facebook, NME, ASOS and Halifax – I need to check my bank balance after visiting ASOS ;)

Q: What do you spend your time doing outside of work?

A: Hanging out with my friends, listening to music, watching movies, going to gigs, exercising *cough* and eating hummus :P

Q: And finally…who is your idol?

A: I don’t have an idol that I aspire to be like but musically I admire Kele Okereke and Orlando Weeks. Johnny Cash and Morrissey are legends. And I do buy Cliff Richard’s racy calendar every year – he looks quite buff in his old age.

Interesting answers from Kelly and I hope you all enjoy it!

Back soon, and I promise it will not be such a long wait this time!!

Jodi

And, of course, YouTuber is keen to compile its own “top” list for 2009. It comes as no surprise to find that the most watched YouTube video of 2009 was Susan Boyle’s audition video from Britain’s Got talent.

What have we all been twittering about in 2009

Jodi

Twitter has compiled a list of top “Trending Topics” for 2009. These are the topics and issues that have captured global attention – and have created the most twitterings.

Among all the keywords, hashtags and phrases that proliferated on Twitter, it was the term #iranelection that came out top, making it one of the most engaging topics of the year.

Here are the top three Twitter topics in various categories:

News:
1    #iranelection
2 Swine Flu
3 Gaza

People:
1 Michael Jackson
2 Susan Boyle
3 Adam Lambert

Films:
1. Harry Potter
2. New Moon
3. District 9

Technology:
1. Google Wave
2. Snow Leopard
3. Tweetdeck

Hash tags:
1. #musicmonday
2. #iranelection
3. #sxsw

So if you want to stay in touch with what everyone else is talking and thinking about it might be a good idea to keep up with Twitter. Well, you knew that anyway, didn’t you?

Q and A with Dave Gray

Jodi

David Gray Q & A… Charley Carta

I would like to wish you all a happy new year and I hope that you are sticking to your new years resolutions!

As promised I am back this year interrogating more members of the team so that you all know what floats our boats!

This week I questioned another of the newest members of the WebCreation UK team, Charley Carta, who works in our project support team.

Q: What is involved in working in project support?

It’s a tough job, but also a rewarding one. We’re mainly here to help our clients with any problems they might have, whether that’s just needing some info about something, or a larger scale problem, we’ll always try our best to help.

Q: Have you ever googled yourself?

Yeah, it’s mainly just my facebook and myspace pages, nothing particularly interesting to be honest! I am mentioned on this girl’s youtube page, as if we’re best friends, and I have no idea who she is! Scares me a little.

Q: Name your 3 favourite website designs by WebCreation UK?

Oh no, I hope our clients don’t read this! My three favourites are probably Andy Abraham’s website (www.andyabraham.com), Queensbury Media (www.queensburymedia.co.uk) and Reflection Chauffeurs (www.reflectionchauffeurs.com), these sites are excellent as they each have an original design which compliments the content of the site well.

Q: What did you get for Christmas?

Some clothes and books, it was an excellent Christmas!

Q: What was the last thing you bought online?

Well, I literally just bought the Brian Butterfield soundboard for my iPod, if you don’t know who he is, you should! If that doesn’t count, a pair of drumsticks off of eBay.

Q: What three websites do you use the most?

Facebook, Facebook and Facebook. Just joking, it’s most likely Facebook, Youtube and Kloth for nameserver look-ups.

Q: Finally, what do you spend your time doing outside of work?

In the weekdays I just watch a film or play Call of Duty with work mates, then on weekends I like to go out and get messy, then Sunday is band practice!

Have a good weekend and I’ll be back next week!!
